The larva of Oecetis tripunctata (Fabricius, 1793) (Trichoptera, Leptoceridae)

چکیده
Oecetistripunctata is a widely distributed leptocerid in Europe, ranging from the Iberian and Apennine peninsulas and the Central and Western European highlands to the plains of Eastern Europe. The long, single-bladed mandibles are indicative for a predacious lifestyle. This paper describes the previously unknown larva of Oecetistripunctata. Information on the morphology of the 5th larval instar is given, and the most important diagnostic features are illustrated. A synoptic key for the European species of Oecetis is also provided. In the context of existing identification keys the larva of Oecetistripunctata keys together with Oecetisintima and Oecetisnotata. Oecetistripunctata is separated from the other two species by the fact that a double row of long setal fringes is lacking at the hind tibiae and that several long setae are present on the protrochantinus.

Biodiversity and distribution of Trichoptera species along the Tapee River, Surat Thani Province, southern Thailand
The Tapee River is one of the most important rivers in southern Thailand. The river crisscrosses from Khao Luang National Park, Nakhon Si Thammarat province to Surat Thani province and flows to the Thai Gulf. To study the biodiversity and distribution of Trichoptera species along the Tapee River, insects were collected by light trapping every 3 months from April 2004−February 2005. The results ...
متن کاملA Review of the Genus Oecetis (Trichoptera: Leptoceridae) in the Northeastern Region of Brazil with the Description of 5 New Species
Within Leptoceridae, the genus Oecetis contains about 500 species around the world, including 53 in the Neotropics. In Brazil, there are 15 recorded species of Oecetis. These species were described over several decades by numerous authors with the results that descriptions are not comparable and diagnoses are incomplete. Also, the apparently unbranched M vein, in the forewing, a diagnostic char...
متن کاملFourteen new species of Oecetis McLachlan, 1877 (Trichoptera: Leptoceridae) from the Neotropical region
BACKGROUND The caddisfly genus Oecetis currently contains 534 valid species. Its larval stages are found in freshwaters around the world. The adults can be distinguished from other Leptoceridae by the unbranched forewing M vein and the exceptionally long maxillary palps. In the Neotropical region, 55 species of Oecetis have been recorded and most of them can be placed in one of the six species ...
متن کاملNotalina roraima Holzenthal 1986 (Trichoptera: Leptoceridae), male genitalia variability and larval description.
Notalina roraima Holzenthal 1986 was described on the basis of a single holotype specimen from the Pantepui Region. The species is a member of the endemic Neotropical long-horned caddisfly (Trichoptera: Leptoceridae) subgenus Notalina (Neonotalina) Holzenthal 1986. We present new records of this species and describe some morphological variation in the male genitalia. Moreover, we describe and i...
